Hope in the Moonlight

One evening, as I was locking up outside for the night, I happened upon a tree frog on our patio. It had this wonderful expression in its eyes, and I was fascinated by the texture of its skin. I snapped a photo, but the porch background just didn’t do it justice. I wanted to imagine this tree frog in the magic of the moonlight. I imagined the adventures it might have long after my family and I were asleep.

So I began to work on this piece as a way to express hope and magic. It feels like an ode to a beautiful creature who crossed my path, and whom I wish well.
